Hey guys

So, i need to kill like 5 minutes, so here it goes:

I've been studying for physics all afternoon. That stuff sucks. But i'm understanding it better. My test is tomorrow so i've only got to worry about it a little while longer. And then my goal is to stay ahead, that way i will know what my prof is talking about.

Me and Greg played the sims2. It's fun. Except my female character keeps kissing other females. that's not so cool. I cant play as much as i want to though cause i have to play on greg's computer. But that's probably a good thing or else i wouldnt get anything done at all, and I'd hate to fail out of college because of the Sims.

I had lunch with my old roommate today. It was fun. She brought her new dog. She's cute. She's a beagle i think, and she's kinda brown, and white. I was there when courtney ordered her last year. So I saw lots of puppy pictures.

Anyway, i dont have anything else to type about. I missed scrubs last night so if anyone has it let me know.

I'm gonna go do water aerobics at the rec with cassie now. I've never done it before. I hope the pool isnt cold.

The sims 2 :( Fable :)

So i bought the sims 2. I'm gonna need a better graphics card to play it. And i cant upgrade the graphics card in my laptop. So i'm gonna have to get a new computer.

After that i went to frys and got fable. It was awesome. Read the reviews on the TAGD forums here: http://tagd.cs.tamu.edu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=159

Anyway, i've got tons of work to do today, so i'm out.

Sorry

I would just like to apologize for not blogging.

So, i've been super busy and stuff so it's been a while since i've blogged. First i've got all those dumb classes i take. They arent too bad, except for physics and i happen to have a physics test on tuesday, that doesnt make me happy. So i've gotta do some major studying for that.

So big game is coming along nicely. I'm on the graphics part. I dont know much grahics yet, but that's ok.

I'm goin home this weekend. I dunno why, i guess i just miss my cat and my little brother.

The sims 2 comes out friday!!!

Fable came out today, but i dont have an xbox so when i go home me and my brother will play it... he doesnt know this yet though, but we will.

I'm probably gonna move off campus next semester and live with cassie. It'll be cool. My own room, my own bathroom, and kitchen, a washer and dryer, and... (this is the best part)... a cat.

Umm, and congrats to brian for "dating" or whatever you are calling it, with Tess. Tess is a cool name, if i ever got a girl cat i'd name it Tess. I really like that book tess of the d'urbervilles.

K, i gotta put my homework together and go to bed. Later.

Late Tuesday through Friday

So i havent blogged since tuesday and lots has happened since then so i'll bring you all up to date.

Late Tuesday
So after i blogged i went to physics where i soon learned that my physics teacher does not speak english... at all. So some prof's are just a little harder to understand especially if the room is kinda loud or something, but this woman, even when you listen really really hard, is the most difficult to understand prof i've ever had. Here is how her lectures go:

"ok, now zis iz ze most important part of zis class... asdli aslfie asdlfkjeif jfdoie dlkjfie fldksajfoie skjdfoiej sldkjfie slkdie lkdf... ok, is zat clear?"

Looks like this will be one of those classes that i learn from the book.

Wednesday
I cant remember school on wednesday, i guess it was just regular.

Wendesday night though was our first big game meeting. I think it went pretty well. We've gotten to a good start from what i can see. So hopefully this goes over better than space game.

Thursday
I dont think i did much yesterday. I cant really remember. I remember doing some DirectX. I made a teapot, then i made a box, then i made the box spin, and then i made it fall, and then i made 20 boxes.

It still needs a lot of work. I need to put in a timer because my boxes fall really really fast on my monitor and they fall really really slow on my laptop. I also need to load a mesh and texture. but that is a job for later tonight or tomorrow.

Friday
Today has probably been the most exciting day of the week. I went to class, and had a quiz so class seemed really short. Then i found Brian in the hall way and me and him and Jason went to underground for lunch. Then Brian and I came back and we went in the graphics lab and found jacob and luke there.

While i was in the graphics lab i decided to use a mac because i never really used one before. First of all i was impressed by it when i typed in my password wrong and the login thing started shaking and it blanked out my password to let me know i was wrong.

Then i was impressed when i opened up a browser that when i double clicked on the top of it rather than maximising like i thought it would it squished down and squeezed into the task bar. It was super cool looking. it didtn just go down like normal windows do in windows it totally "swooped" down. I was impressed. If the apple people would just make commercials of someone minimizing and maximizing windows more people would buy macs.

So then we left so they could install halo on all the computers and me and caleb started walking home. And we decided to look for the seal that dimitri talks about in his info. We found it.

We went into the Cushing library. It's a pretty cool place. first you have to lock up yoru backpack and purse so you dont steal any books. Then we went up to the 2nd floor and asked the guy at the desk to see the 1918 longhorn which is the name of the yearbook back then.

Caleb was looking for stuff about Crocker because he is RA in Crocker hall now. Anyway, so we looked at all the old pictures and stuff. In the football section it had all the scores of all the games in 1918 and no one scored any points against A&M in 1918, which is a lot different from how it is now. So caleb wrote down some stuff about Crocker and we go our stuff and left.

We went to hart to look for dimitri to tell him we found the seal. Then i asked Dimitri if i could see the Hart Hall Dungeons. So we went down there. It was super scary. I cant tell you what I saw down there though in case small children are reading this blog, it would scar them for life.

Anyway, after those adventures i came back up to my room, organized my stuff and started blogging.

Tuesday

So, today is Tuesday, so I started my day at 11:10 by going to Discrete. My teacher speaks English well, so that is a plus. I'm not sure if it is his first language or not though. And his last name is Rojas and he doesn't look American, but that doesn't really mean anything. Like my friend Ricky who's name is Ricardo Garcia is just as American as me and doesn't speak any more Spanish than what he learned in high school. Anyway, I like my discreet teacher. I hope he teaches well.

Generally in the past I've had horrible math teachers. Just in college I had that one Greek guy who spoke little English, and then I had that mean guy who only spoke English but was horrible at math. Then at UTA last summer I had a Chinese guy who wasn't awesome with English but he was a super good teacher, and he was super good at drawing 3D diagrams. Too bad the class was like 2 hours long and I had to go straight after work when my attention span was about 20 minutes.

So anyway, I went to the Rec today. It was only a little crowded. I figured it would be a lot like the beginning of last semester when everyone had all those new years resolutions. So hopefully I can keep that up and become healthy and not get fat and get high cholesterol and die of a heart attack when I'm 22. Not that I'm that unhealthy, but you know what I mean.

The season premier of Scrubs is on at 8:30 and Caleb has graciously allowed me to use his TV tonight to watch it. Thanks Caleb.

So i didnt know how to spell graciously so i clicked the spell checker button and IE exploerer blocked my popups. I dont think i like that. Crazy Service Pack 2.

Anyway, i'm done now.

bye

first day of school

So today was the first day of school. Pretty uneventful except I have my great diseases of the world class that is on west campus so today Greg and I learned to use the bus. It wasnt very fun, there were like 3 times as many people who wanted to ride the bus than would fit. So Greg and I squeezed on the way over there making it just in time to be 5 minutes late for our class. On the way back we just walked, it was easier that way, but it was hotter.

Anyway, I am now hosting my website on my computer now. Except you cant see it outside of the campus firewall, but that will soon change.

I'm downloading Service Pack 2, i'm scared because when Jared installed it it corrupted his registry and that does not sound fun. So cross your fingers for me.

TAGD started up again today. It's exciting.

I'm sleepy now.

Goodnight.

LAN party

So here I am at a LAN party, and what am I doing?... I'm blogging. Thats ok though.

So Jeff Seely is playing Unreal tournament next to me, it's pretty cool, but i'm kinda tired of that game. After all the Unreal that we play in TAGD i'm kinda Unrealed out. I'm just not very good at it to tell you the truth.

I am also watching the olympics. Does it to seem to anyone else that all they've been showing is balance beam? Like honestly all i've seen is balance beam and one pommel horse. Not that i dont like balance beam but i like the floor the best. Oh, i guess i've seen a little bit of the uneven bars too. Anyway...

Sunday is when i'm going back to school. I'm not as excited about it as I was before. I'm getting used to the staying in bed all day and not doing anything. I just dont feel like packing and cleaning my room.

But i'm sure once I get back to school i'll be glad i'm there. I'll be busy with stuff then and wont have time to get into a lazy mood.

I gotta play starcraft now.

bye

ready for school to start

I'm ready for school to start. Actually, i just want to go back to College Station.

Oh, i should comment on what happened with the whole dorm thing. I'll pick up from where I left off. So anyway, Roxann, fought and fought her way into the core of the Housing Department until she found someone who could help her out. So she got put on a list to move into a bigger Hart room and someone left and so she got moved to a bigger room, which if you just call up the Housing Department they tell you there is nothing you can do about any of it until the fall, so they lie. Anyway, so she got moved and she gave me the name and number of the people i needed to keep talking to to get myself moved. But about that time I gave up.

So then i called the housing office, told them to send me the information of my new roommate and I e-mailed her. Her name is Brittany, she's cool. We talk online and I think we'll get along well.

This is how the next couple weeks look.

Tuesday is my last day of calculus and my calculus Final, which is always scary. Then thursday is my last day of work. Then i'm going to cs on friday for graduation, and i'm gonna stay with luke there. Then maybe play some axis and allies on saturday. Then i am going to lay in the pool for a whole week, except for when i get my hair cut and go to the eye doctor. then on sunday the 22nd i'm going back to school. I'm excited.

I dont know

urg, i just wrote a blog and then it didnt work. Stupid blog, guess you guys dont get to read it now.

I dont know

So, sorry it has been over a week since my last post. I hate it when people neglect their blogs like that.

So i only have one week of work left. I'm super excited to be done with that. I dont think i'll go back next year, they want me to, but it was pretty boring. Today they took all the interns to look at the cool stuff they do there in an effort to excite us and make us want to come back. I dunno if it's for me though.

Anyway, i have nothing to type about, so instead of boring you, i'll just leave.

Hump Day

So I was informed this morning that today is Hump day and that I just had to make it to lunch and then i was home free from that point on.

I am happy to say that I made it.  But about 4 o'clock i was about to not make it anymore.  But i pushed on another hour and a half and made it to 5:30 which is still a half hour earlier than when i usually leave.  But, I also came in an hour late, so that puts me an hour and a half back for today.  That isn't too bad though if you compare it to how many hours i worked yesterday.

I have what they call "short timers disease".   I personally have never heard of this condition before but several people have mentioned it.  Apparently when you can see the end of the tunnel like i can (I only have 2 weeks and one day of work left) you turn into a complete slacker.  It doesnt matter though because I am an hourly employee and I don't  have to work 40 hours a week if I dont want to, and my boss is on vacation, and sure he left me a big list of stuff to do while he is gone, but it wasnt enough to fill up 2 whole weeks of time, so i'm just helping him out.

Anyway, if you didnt know, Greg and I are dating now, so i will comment on that a little bit.
Dating your friend is an interresting thing.  Most friends try to avoid that for fear of ruining the relationship, but i think in this situation it was pretty unavoidable.   Anyway, it's fun.

I get my camera tomorrow.  I'm super excited.  If you'd like to track it with me check this out.

Ok, so i think i'll go to bed soon, so i'm done with this now.

I got linked

So I just found out that i got linked to on calebbell.is-a-geek.com so i decided maybe i should update my blog just a little.

So i've decided that I dont have time for anything at all anymore.  It takes being super busy to realize that all those things you do when you are bored really do mean a lot to you.  Like it was not until last night that i got to read about Jacob's exciting time camping, and I still have not gotten to read like the last 5 posts on caleb's blog.  But i'm really excited about reading his endevors at Bill Gate's house.

My parents went to california last week so i didnt want to be home all by myself being bored because that just gets scary, so I hung out with greg a lot.  And last week was a full 5 day week so it's not like I had all day of friday to do nothing and be bored.   So all of my "i'm bored" past times were put on hold.

I forgot where i was going with all this...

Anyway, my parents got back last night, but i havent seen them yet so i'm going downstairs.

Oh yeah, and I want to buy a camera, so if any of you have any suggestions let me know.

It's blogging time!!

Urg, i still honestly cannot understand how so many people work so many hours in a day and still be sane because by 3:30 i've gone totally insane.

So at work they made me webmistress. Now keep in mind i had never made a website in my life. Well except for this one. But that doesnt really count. Anyway, so I am in charge of F-18 webpages. So there are three of them cause we have contracts with the US navy, Canada, and Australia. They are just internal websites that just link to important stuff and have everythign anyone would need all right there together, so it's nothing very impressive, but i like them.

eh, i dont feel like blogging anymore.

It's friday

Hello everyone,

I would like to announce that today is friday. Fridays are good because that means i dont have to go to work tomorrow.

So i would like to start out by saying a word about the housing situation. So Roxann, my new roommate, went and talked to the Housing Department. She said they told her we had to wait until they can talk to everyone involved in all of it. So, that does not sound promising. But that's ok. B5 will be a good room too.

So i got a new keyboard today. Actually i ordered it last week. If you want to see where it went you can click here I think it's funny that it went to ft worth twice. And it go to go to all those places for just 5 dollars.

So i got in a fight with my mom tonight at dinner. She told my brother he couldnt start his own cycling club. And i told him he could, and that my old calculus teacher, Mr. Feldstein, would love to sponsor it. She got mad, and said that the school wouldnt ever let him make up his own club. But i told her people make up their own clubs all the time, and she said the school wouldnt want to be liable for a cycling club.

So, since then i've been hiding in my room. I hide a lot in my room when i'm at home. But i'm not home very often.

Oh, so all of you computer scientists out there, this one is for you...
So i got this thing in the mail today from the cs department. It's like some sort of newsletter. So since i get like one piece of mail a week i look at it. And i flipped through the pages, and who do i see in there? Why none other than myself. They had a picture of TAGD in there doing big event stuff, and there i was. Caleb was there too, and brian. I just felt important having my picture printed on the same piece of paper as Stroustup cause he was on the page before me.

So i'm waiting for greg to get dressed because i want to go hang out. I havent hung out in a long time. I'm tired of all i ever do is sleep and work. This whole work thing is no fun. Oh and sometimes i do calculus, but that is not fun either. But i only have about a month left of work, and then it's summer time again for 2 weeks, and then school starts.

ok, enough of this.

Housing

So as most of you know i spent my first year at texas A&M living in Eppright which is a modular dorm on southside. It was ok for the most part, my own bathroom, big rooms, lots of closets. So I spent most of the year planning on moving into wells the next year so i could hang out with greg all the time.

But then sometime the second semester i started hanging out with caleb and dimitri a lot who both lived in Hart hall this past year. So one day i probably said something like:

"Oh, i like that Hart is so close to rumours, I like rumours",
and caleb and dimitri would say:
"you should live in Hart next year"

and i would say something like:
"It's cool that you guys are so close to the msc, you get to see all the cool stuff",
and they'd say:
"you should live in hart next year"

and i would say:
"I like how you guys have your own backyard at hart"
and they would say:
"you should move to hart next year"

and i would say:
"it's cool that you guys have your very own yellow lot"
and they said:
"and that is another reason you should live in hart next year"

and i would say:
"I love lofts and sleeping up high, that's so cool, i wish i could have a loft"
and they would say:
"oh, but you can, if you only move to hart next year"

and i would say something like:
"i dont like to wear socks"
and they would say:
"that's why you should live in hart next year"
and i would say:
"what does that have to do with living in hart"
and they woudl say:
"oh nothing, you should just live in hart"

So anyway, i weighed all the details together and decided that Hart is the better place to live. Its closer to all the good food, it's not way out in the middle of south campus, and they have their own backyard and yellow lot.

So one day me and dimitri went to the housing office to change my housing application. And Dimitri being the hart RA that he is and having lived there since before they got airconditioning, he knows a lot about Hart. So he told me which rooms to request because some rooms in Hart are bigger and better than other rooms.

So as it turns out a week later I got one of the bigger better rooms. It is better because it has an extra closet and 2 extra windows. So i was really excited.

But then this last week i got another letter saying that i was assigned to a different room in hart. It is still a bigger room, but not really a better room. It doesnt have 4 windows and 2 closets like the better room. And it wouldnt be that bad to live in that room, but we were already excited about the other room.

So, I e-mailed the housing office and my roommate next year to see what was up with that. And the housing office e-mailed me back and said that my roommate who is at A&M this summer for school had been in earlier today and that she has an appointment with the housing lady to see why we got changed. And that's all i know.

So, I guess this story will be continued tomorrow...

My Evening

So tonight was a fun night.

So I've lived 25 minutes from ft. worth for like almost 7 years now and it still always seems special when we all head out for a night at Sundance Square. So bryan (my friend katie's boyfriend) got free tickets for Hyena's which is a comedy night club in ft worth. It was really funny. We saw Steve Hirst who was pretty funny. It's not every day you see someone do a Chippendales routine dressed as Austin Powers.

It was all super cool except for the policy that there was a 2 drink minimum. Since we are in the United States, and the legal drinking age is 21, and I was given those infamous x's on my hands, that limited what drinks i was allowed to order. So i basically had some rather expensive strawberry smoothies. That was ok though, because the tickets were free, and i would have payed 15 bucks to get in anyway. So it was worth it.

Anyway, it's after midnight... Oh, Happy 4th of july!... anyway, i have to go to church in the morning, so i am heading to bed now.

Oh yeah, i want to go see Paul Oakenfold at the lizard lounge next weekend, if anyone wants to go with me, let me know.

Dont see monster

So my older brother recently rented monster with Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. I got probably an hour and a half through it untill i decided that this movie was really really horrible and i couldnt stand to watch another minute of it.

First of all, Charlize Theron's character was a hooker and Christina Ricci's character was a lesbian, so they hook up which makes for some really gross scenes and then Charlize Theron's character decides to start killing her clients. The first one was justifiable, but the rest werent. Also, they cursed like way too much. So i'd had enough of the lesbians, killing, and swearing and turned it off.

But, speaking of movies, i saw Breakfast at Tiffany's with Greg, Kevin, Jared, and Kyle. It was undoubtedly very good. I especially liked the part at the end when she had to go back for her cat, and then go back for the guy. She obviously had her priorities in order.

Anyway, yesterday i felt like spending money. I think it was because of the gigantic fry's ad that was in the paper yesterday. So I decided on this 17" LCD monitor. It is normally 500, but it was 100 dollars off with a 50 dollar rebate. so all in all it was a pretty good deal. But anyway, this is my new setup. Notice the ultra cool hard drive that i've got there.

And that blog took me hours to write. Most of that time was spend trying to figure out how to put that picture of my setup on my new computer science website. There isnt much there yet. But just you wait.
